While Greece has an estimated 6,000 islands and islets, here are our favourite destinations:
Milos
Raw and cinematic. Milos feels shaped by the sea itself. White rock, deep blue water, and beaches that all feel different. A place for swimming, simplicity, and days guided by light and tide. In the right spots, you'll feel like you're on another planet.
Paros
Easy, balanced, and quietly beautiful. Whitewashed towns, relaxed beaches, and a pace that feels just right. Ideal for settling in, with mornings by the water and evenings that do not rush.
Naxos
Grounded and authentic. A mix of mountain villages, long sandy beaches, and local life that remains unchanged. Naxos rewards curiosity, especially away from the main towns.
Athens
Ancient ruins, quiet neighbourhood cafés, and long evenings that naturally stretch into night. Find history layered into everyday life. Athens is best experienced slowly, walking and letting the city unfold between marble and concrete.
Santorini
Familiar, but still striking. Best experienced early or late in the day when the island feels quieter. Come for the views, stay for the moments you have to slow down to notice. There will likely be a crowd, but it is for a reason.
Kefalonia
Green hills meet clear water, with beaches that feel spacious and unforced. Kefalonia suits longer stays, quiet swims, and days spent moving gently between villages. You'll feel right at home.
Our tips:
- Take ferries instead of flights when possible
- Swim early in the morning or near sunset
- Explore inland villages, not just the coast
- Eat late, walk often, and leave space in the day for nothing at all
